Rockvale Writers Colony: a Bucolic Sanctuary | The Cameron Journal
In July, I had the distinct privilege of being able to stay and work at the Rockvale Writer’s Colony outside of Franklin, Tennessee. The space was beautiful and the best thing is that I completed several projects (which means new books in 2021). The property is set on a historic farm and the original buildings have been preserved. If you want to read the full history of the property then please visit their information page.
The property is beautiful and thanks to it’s former past as a bed and breakfast is fairly luxurious as writer’s colonies go. I stayed in the Giles Hill room (all the rooms are named after local landmarks) and it sported a jacuzzi tub and a glass in shower enclosed with plenty of space (even for me!) The closet was large as well which gave me plenty of room to store all my stuff. The property also has a pool and a spa which was closed when I was there. There is a main house and a carriage house where the offices for the colony are located. The original cabin the settlers lived in is still on the property as well as another room…
