New Cars to Watch in 2019
2019 means new cars are already hitting new car dealer lots. Rather than do one of those “best car lists” where you can’t afford any of the cars on there, we wanted to talk about new cars that actually are affordable for most people! 2019 has lots of great new cars and we’ve picked up some for a variety of needs.
Of course the first car on the list would be Japanese. The American auto companies are abandoning the sedan but for Japanese manufacturers, the sedan is still a strong seller. This model has recently gotten body style refresh so there won’t be much new in 2019, however it comes with a variety of options including hybrid which makes for a great daily driver/grocery getter. It’s not necessarily the most exciting car on the planet, but it does come with optional driver assist paddle shifting and if you can invest in options, you can create a truly great car.
The Hyundai Kona is new to the lineup at Hyundai. Small SUVs are incredibly popular. It also has a plug-in hybrid option. It’s roomie on the inside and comes with Hyundai’s great 100,000 mile warranty. This is a great car for someone who wants the room of an SUV without having to buy something truly massive.
Hatchbacks aren’t as popular in the United States as they are in Europe. Narrow European roads and taxes keep cars small but if you’re looking for one of the best hatchbacks on the marketing, you can’t beat the VW Golf. For the performance minded, this car also has performance variants that are very exciting. The Golf has plenty of room inside, has 4 full doors and is just fine for packing around your groceries. It is one of the truly perfect city cars and its priced just right.
Small truck fans have been desperate for Ford to produce another small truck that does all the jobs of a truck without being massive. The Ranger was discontinued for the American market a decade ago but now it’s back and it’s a great truck for those that don’t need something full-size like the popular F-150. It comes in a 2 door and 4 door option. It sports Ford’s eco boost engine so the gas mileage won’t kill you either.
You can get a look inside the truck right now with this Doug DeMuro video:
